Tim Ranzetta

Next Gen Personal Finance Co-Founder

Tim Ranzetta co-founded the nonprofit, Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) in 2014 after seeing the impact of financial education while teaching a course he developed at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, California. The engagement level of the first-gen students, and the interest coming from their parents, convinced him of the transformative effect of this education both inside and outside of the classroom. In addition, he has established an endowment so the organization can provide all of its curriculum and professional development at no cost to schools. NGPF provides free curriculum, professional development and advocacy tools to more than 40,000 teachers who reach 75% of high school students in the U.S. In 2020, 6,000 educators sharpened their content knowledge and their teaching practices by participating in more than 110,000 hours of NGPF’s online professional development. This confident and highly qualified teaching corps will be critical to achieving the community’s shared goal of Mission 2030 a program to ensure that ALL high school students will cross the graduation stage with the financial skills they need to thrive in the future. Prior to founding NGPF, Tim co-founded several companies including an information security company acquired by Recall Secure Destruction Services, the nation’s leading compensation and corporate governance research firm (Equilar) and a student loan research firm (Student Lending Analytics). He began his career as a management consultant at Bain and Company. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of science degree in commerce with distinction and received his MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
